This photograph is the winner of the Planet Category of the COP28 Photography Competition. The Climate Tribe partnered with the Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA), leveraging the power of photography to inspire global awareness of sustainability and advance climate action.

With his photograph the artist submitted the following statement.

We levelled the mountains
We cut down the trees
We dried up the rivers
We have destroyed our sources of life
We pressed the key to the extinction of the human race
