Utilising every direction that the sun touches the Earth, these Energy Trees are showcased at Terra, Expo City in Dubai, demonstrating true ingenuity for an alternative energy source.
The solar panel canopy captures the sun’s energy through the top and bottom, while the circular tops follow the sun's movement throughout the day. Energy Trees are inspired by the intricate brilliance of real-life trees, particularly dragon’s blood trees.
Native to the Socotra archipelago, dragon’s blood trees have adapted to survive the arid, low-soil environment. Their large, dense tree tops play an essential role in retaining moisture and protecting their seedlings.
On April 22, this Earth Day, why don’t we look to nature for its resourcefulness? What do other living creatures do when they must survive scarcities?
Could we work with nature to claim our power from our planet?
