The Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve is a government initiative to create sustainable environments and wildlife habitats for the future. The man-made Al Qudra Lakes cover an area of 10 hectares in Dubai and are now home to more than 170 bird species. In years past, flocks of migrating flamingoes would winter in the United Arab Emirates, but today, breeding colonies of Greater Flamingoes indicate that a suitable year-round breeding habitat has been established in the United Arab Emirates.
The Climate Tribe invites you to join one of our bird-watching nature walks. The next habitat cleanup will take place on 25th October. Together, we will keep the UAE a thriving location for our migratory visitors and our permanent resident birds.
