From field to fork, around 6% of global greenhouse gases can be traced to food transport. ‘Food miles’ are based on the distance travelled from production to consumption; Today, our global tastes have grown more diverse, causing greater environmental impacts.

While innovations in agritech help to keep more diverse foods local, there are health and environmental benefits in consuming locally grown and recently harvested foods. The Climate Tribe encourages you to eat local, eat seasonal and eat the rainbow.

This award-winning photograph is from the fourth season, “Life in Colour”, of the Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) Archive. The Climate Tribe has partnered with HIPA, leveraging the power of photography to inspire global awareness of sustainability and advance climate action.
