Home to a humid, tropical climate, the fields of Vietnam are famous for their flower cultivation. These flower farmers produce many of the world’s roses, with Dalat, Vietnam, growing 3.1 billion flowers in 2020.
However, as with so many agricultural products, our shifting environment has brought change. Erratic rainfall, severe flooding, and ever-increasing temperatures mean that flower farmers must now adapt to climate change. New sustainability efforts are underway across the industry, but still, these farmers are faced with the same questions as the rest of us: how do we mitigate a future we’re still trying to understand?
Let’s show our appreciation for the beauty around us by ensuring it’ll be around for future generations.
