Ying Miao

Dr Ying Miao is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at Aston University (UK). Her research is about inequality at its heart, especially inequalities in sustainable development. She pays particular attention to socioeconomic deprivation in the context of decarbonisation and pollution reduction strategies, studying how technological advancements in these areas need to be considered with wider sociopolitical implications. She is currently working on a multidisciplinary EPSRC/NERC-funded project aiming to develop sustainable district heating systems while addressing socioeconomic barriers and constraints in the uptake of community-based heating networks.
