Georgina Pereira
Georgina is an IUCN species survival manager with years of professional experience focused on environmental education, science communication and climate action in the UAE. Her experience takes shape from her passion for wildlife conservation and ethnobiology. In her current role as the species survival manager at Terra, Expo City Dubai, she studies fungi, urban biodiversity and helps run Terra’s mission-driven impact programmes. Over the years, she developed multiple exceptional environmental education programmes at Expo as the manager of content development and education. Having previously led a different life as a lawyer pre-COVID, Georgina now merges her legal skills with that of nature to bring about strides in biodiversity conservation and environmental education. She kickstarted her scientific career as a science communicator, and now, with her previous degrees in environmental law as additional knowledge, she is pursuing her master's in biodiversity while she works as a desert ecologist specialising in mycology.
